composers Roscoe Mitchell and Stephen Dembski, and in 2005 performed with the Mandaragora Tango Ensemble in Astor Piazzolla's opera, Maria de Buenos Aires. He is a founding member of Charanga Tropical, one of the only ensembles in the U.S. devoted to Cuba's classical music.  He also plays with the Jetsam Organic Ensemble, performing pre-written and improvised music from around the globe. 
Christian Zamora was born in Costa Rica to a mixed heritage of North and Central American blood.  After finding his way to Kansas City, Kansas, where he spent his formative years, he began studying the violin at the age of 13 with Paul Hatton.  Two years later, Paul would become Christian's step-father.  The close connection continued with Christian's undergraduate study at the University of Wisconsin - Madison with one of Paul's former teachers, the renown violinist and pedagogue Vartan Manoogian.

Christian is a founding member of the Accende Ensemble as well as the Yurodivy String Quartet. He has held concertmaster positions with the Bismarck/Mandan Symphony, the Kansas City Puccini Festival Orchestra, and the Kansas City Civic Opera. 

Though Christian's musical roots lie with western classical music, he remains devoted to the music of living composers,  the  study  of improvisation, and  the  music  of  Argentina   and  Cuba.   He  has  worked  with
